Fundraising

There are many ways you can chose to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island

Re-gifting or Donating to Events

Make re-gifting the new way to donate new and unwanted items. If you receive a gift you know you won't be using or can't return, consider donating them to the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island to use as raffle items for the golf or dinner event. That gift card you appreciate but you know you’re never going to use, the Xbox or Wii game you already have, or that extra-small item that doesn’t fit and can’t be returned. We will gratefully accept all unused gifts and gift cards that you wish to contribute year round.

It's a great new way to be generous and clutter free!

We thank you for your support.

Annual Appeal

The Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island raises money to fund the Community Education Program.  By providing services through a series of different programs from primary through high school age children, school nurses, first responders, medical personnel, senior citizens, employers, caregivers and teachers, we help dispel the myths and stigma that still surround those with epilepsy.  Support our annual appeal by making a donation.

  • Memorialize a deceased family member or loved one
  • Take a leaf in your own name
  • Put your business or company name on an acorn
  • Honor a marriage, birth or other special occasion
  • Have one as a thank you
  • Holidays, Mother's Day, Father's Day

Make a Memorial Donation / Honor Donation

Your donation will show the family of the deceased or whomever you chose to honor that you care while helping the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island support those that struggle each day with seizure disorders.   We'll mail a card to the person you designate to notify of your donation (the amount of the gift will not be indicated).

Gift Planning

By making a tailored unique financial plan such as gifts of stock, bequests, charitable annuities, life insurance policies, trusts, or other vehicles during your lifetime, you leave a lasting and significant impression on those people who are most dear to you. It is advised that you consult with a financial professional or an attorney when planning your gift to the Foundation.

Gifts of Stock: Make a gift of appreciated stock or mutual funds.

Bequests:  Through a will or trust, direct a gift to be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island which will enable you to further the good work of the Foundation.

Charitable Gift Annuities:  Make a gift of money or other marketable property in exchange for a fixed annual payment for the remainder of the donor’s life.  At a specified date or at death, the remaining funds will be distributed to the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island.

Life Insurance Policies:  Name the Epilepsy Foundation as a beneficiary on your policy or donate an existing life insurance policy to the Foundation.  On an existing policy you can make a cash gift which we will use to make the premium payments.

Trusts:  A great way to make a gift and receive fixed payments during your lifetime.

Tangible Personal Property:  Gifts of personal property, real estate and similar assets are gratefully appreciated.

Matching Gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees.   The impact of your gift to the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.  If your company offers a matching gift, please contact us.
